John Atanasoff Award
At an official ceremony in the Embassy Hall of the Presidency of the Republic of Bulgaria, Encho Mishinev, a part of CodeIT team and Musala Soft's, and Anton Shikov, a lecturer at the Shikovi Informatics School and head of the Bulgarian National Informatics Team, were honored with John Atanasov - pupils and their teachers "for the highest achievements at international school Olympiads in Informatics and Information Technologies. The award was presented by Mr. Rumen Radev, President of the Republic of Bulgaria.
A former graduate of the Yambol School of Mathematics and a current student at Cambridge University, Encho Mishinev was awarded the John Atanasov Diploma after he ranked seventh in the ranking of the top 100 youngest programmers in the world in 2017, informed from the press center of Musala Soft. His successes, including three silver and two gold medals from international championships, have helped Bulgaria rank sixth in the world in winning medals at the International Olympiad in Informatics.
Encho Mishinev started his professional career as a software engineer at Musala Soft. As part of the company's CSLab team, he participates in the organization of CodeIT - one of the oldest programming competitions in the world and the most elite private international IT competition in Bulgaria with 18 years of history.
Encho Mishinev is the third employee of the company, who has been awarded the prestigious John Atanassov Award. In 2011 and 2013, Haralambi Haralambiev and Dimitar Ivanov received the John Atanasov Diploma for the successful implementation of scientific discoveries in practice and for the realization of projects of high public relevance by young researchers.
The prize of the President of the Republic of Bulgaria "John Atanasov", established in the name of the founder of the first electronic computer - the famous scientist of Bulgarian origin, John Atanasov, was presented in 2003 to support the personal achievements of young Bulgarian researchers, students, students and teachers , working in the fields of informatics and information technologies. John Atanassov's winners are selected by a special committee of leading.
