Bulgarian Romanian Construction Supervision of Danube Bridge Vidin-Calafat, 03.05.2012

   The second consecutive meeting between the Directorate for National Construction Supervision (NCSD) – Bulgaria and the Regional Directorate in Construction (RDC) Oltenia, Romania, took place today in Vidin. The main topic of the meeting today was to prepare the documentation, observing the requirements of the Bulgarian and Romanian legislation during the construction of the bridge and the procedures for its putting into operation.

  On the part of the Romanian country in the meeting participated: Mr Marcel Marcea – Director and eng. Mircea Popescu – Technical Director of RDC – Oltenia.  On the Bulgarian part the meting was attended by: prof. Milka Gecheva, Head of NCSD, representatives of MTITC, of the Management Unit of the Project “Danube Bridge Vidin-Calafat” to MTITC, representatives of FCC Construccion – Constructors and representatives of the Engineering Control of the Design and Construction Supervision – “Ingerop/High-Point Rendel”.

   After the meeting, the participants watched the construction of the cross-border road and railway installation and walked along the already constructed superstructure of the bridge to the middle of the navigable channel of the Danube. The process of mounting a vessel impact protection /VIP/ at pier PB9, a stage of tensioning the superstructure at pier PB10, construction works at the superstructure and the installation of drainage pipes were also observed.

 The first meeting between the two institutions was held in November 2010.
