The Open Door Day again gathered more than 60 people, willing to see the construction of Danube Bridge Vidin-Calafat. And for the first time people arrived from Sofia, as well as English people who have chosen to live in Bulgaria.
Eng. Alberto Vergara, Manager of the Project on the part of the Constructor – FCC Construccion, welcomed the visitors and acquainted them with the most important in the construction of the road and railway border facility. Together with eng. Mitko Hadzhiev, they answered a lot of questions – about the warranty of the bridge, which is 120 years, about the depth of the foundations in the navigable and non-navigable channels of the river (respectively 80 and 60 m), about the width of the road deck, the railway and many others.
The visitors watched the construction of the superstructure of the bridge in the navigable channel of the Danube river, the preparation for the installation of the segments of the superstructure, finishing works at pier PB9, where the installation of all the vessel impact protections had been completed, as well as the works at the railway approach to and at the bridge.
The buses with the visitors passed along or past the newly constructed road and railway Adjoining Infrastructure to the bridge, the new Freight Station and etc.
