FCC supported the initiative of “Shalom”, 07.03.2013

   The  Constructor of Danube  Bridge Vidin-Calafat – FCC Construccion  supported the initiative “Do good” of the Jewish  organization in Bulgaria “Shalom”,  in connection with the 70th anniversary  of the rescue  of 50,000 Jews by the Bulgarians and  in memory  of the Jews from Macedonia, Aegean Thrace  and Pirot who died in the  death camps  in 1943.

   In the presence of the Ambassador of Israel in Bulgaria, Нon.  Shaul Kamisa-Raz,  were  handed over, the  first 30 glasses to children  from Vidin,  examined by a team  of ophthalmologists from the  Children’s  Eye Clinic  of the Medical University – Sofia,  headed by prof. dr. Silvia Cherninkova and the active participation of the senior assistant Dr. Alexander Oscar.

   About 800 children up to 12-year olds from Vidin and the region were  examined freely, and those who need  will be given glasses by the “Do good” .

    Doctors of Jewish origin from Sofia and New York were included in the initiative, as well as medical students. 

   The initiative “Do good” has been launched in the autumn of 2012 by Lom Municipality and will continue in various regions of Bulgaria
