Architectural heritage Vidin and Dolj
Wonderful Catalog of the project "Revival of the Architectural Heritage in the Vidin and Dolj Districts" is already available to tourists and scientists. The project lasted 24 months under the Interreg V-A Romania-Bulgaria 2014-2020 Program.
Leading partner is the Association for Tourism Promotion - Vidin and the Romanian side - the Romanian Association for Electronic Industry and Software - Oltenia.
The main objective of the project is to promote the cultural heritage of the two regions to attract tourists and to be represented outside the region. The idea is that, thanks to the Project, sustainable tourism development will be achieved on the basis of the available cultural and historical resources, the association announced in Vidin.
During the two-year activity, information on architectural monuments in the regions of Vidin and Dolj was collected and analyzed. Circles for 3D scanning, modeling and printing of architectural monuments and other objects were created. A film and a catalog of architectural buildings were made. Two specialized seminars for architects, construction engineers and construction companies are organized.
The published Architectural Heritage in the regions of Vidin (Bulgaria) and Dolj (Romania) includes 40 public and private architectural monuments from Vidin and 42 from Dolj.
Joint Danube Survey 4
The Danube Exploration and Maintenance Executive Agency of Bulgaria participates in one of the most extensive surface water studies in the world - the "Joint Danube Survey 4 - JDS4", the Press Center of the Agency reports.
At the initiative of the International Commission for the Protection of the Danube River (ICPDR) in 2001, a survey and assessment of the state of the river is being carried out jointly (with the participation of all the Danube river basin) every six years.
The main purpose of the research is to gather vital data on the carefully selected elements of water quality along the entire length of the river and its main tributaries.
Within JDS4, new monitoring methods are being tested - with water filtration equipment for different periods of time (from weeks to months). The equipment is two types - a microplate monitoring chamber and a passive sampller for monitoring organic micro-pollutants in water. Part of the equipment is installed in the region of Rousse and Vidin.
The project harmonises water monitoring practices in the Danube countries following the Water Framework Directive (WFD), which obliges Member States to achieve good water quality.
The result of the JDS4 Survey should cover the information gaps considered necessary for the planned update of the Danube Basin Management Plan in 2021.

The project "Networking for Sustainable Use of Natural Heritage and Resources in the Cross-Border Region" was presented today at a final press conference. The two-year project ends on June 26, 2019.
The project is implemented by the Agency for Regional Development and Business Center 2000 - Montana, in partnership with Agency for Regional Development and Business Center - Vidin and Romanian Association for Technology Transfer and Innovation - Craiova, Romania.
The main objective of the project is to support the sustainable use of natural heritage and to promote the complex tourist services provided in the regions of Montana, Vidin, Vratsa and Pleven in Bulgaria and Dolj, Olt and Mehedinti in Romania.
The implementation of the project also includes a free mobile app that functions as a navigator and provides up-to-date and useful information and photos for tourist (natural) attractions and no internet access. The mobile app aims to make it easier for tourists who have decided to travel around the natural sights in these regions to guide and inform about the predefined destination or route. Application functionality allows further route planning as well as sharing a preferred route. The mobile app is downloaded for free from the Apple App Store and Google Play.

Velislava Tsankova, a psychologist at the Municipal Council of Drugs in the City, shares about the realized idea ,: "Last year we decided to give something interesting to Vidin children. We decided to paint a few games in the Park of Danube in order to have fun. On the asphalt in front of “The Telegraph” are painted: "Lady", "Do not be angry, man!", "Sea chess", "Jump Scale", "Twister" and "Snake". Dice and paws can be requested from the nearby pub's bar.
