The Prime Minister Saw Danube Bridge Vidin-Calafat by Air and Land 15.05.2011

  The Managing team of FCC Construccion, Executor of the Project Danube Bridge Vidin-Calafat was the host of the special visit of the Prime Minister of the Republic of Bulgaria, Boiko Borisov, on Sunday , accompanied by the Director General of the GD “Regional Development” of the EC Dirk Aner, who is on a two-day work visit in the country.
  The Prime Minister, together with the Minister of Finance and the Minister of the European Union Funds Management Tomislav Donchev and the attending guests, were acquainted with the process of the implementation of the Project by the Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Transport, Information Technologies and Communications, Ivailo Moskovski.
  With great satisfaction, after seeing from the government helicopter and on the spot at the Production Site of FCC Construccion and the work site where the bridge is being built, Dirk Aner said: “This is a very beautiful part of Bulgaria and the bridge, along with the other infrastructure projects, I was informed about, will give great impetus to the economic and social development of the region.
   The Prime Minister Borisov and the attending officials could observe part of the manufacturing process – at the moment of transportation by an elephant crane of one of the largest segments of the bridge superstructure in the navigable channel of the Danube. Eng.Simeon Evtimov, Head of PIMU /Project Implementation Management Unit/ and eng.Alberto Vergara , Manager of the Project acquainted the guests with part of the technological process and the progress of the project “Danube Bridge Vidin-Calafat”

 “I am convinced that when we complete the bridge and the four-lane road from Sofia to Vidin, the people and the business and the interest to North-western Bulgaria will return!” said Borisov at his departure.
