ADRA Foundation and the bees

Representatives of ADRA-Bulgaria Foundation and beekeeping company „Dimitar Balev“ – Vidin presented a social beekeeping project “Bee4Thee” (A bee for you), which will be implemented in the Vidin region. The press conference was attended by: Marian Dimitrov, director of the Foundation, Peter Mladenov, chairman of the beekeeping company in Vidin and Daniel Lungov, expert of Projects at the ADRA-Bulgaria Foundation.
The project, which will last 18 months, will train 15 new beekeepers, who will be provided with full equipment for this activity and 12 hives with bee families. The total value of the Project is $ 50,000. The selection of the beneficiaries was made by the beekeeping company “Dimitar Balev” – Vidin. They meet a number of conditions, some of which are: permanently unemployed persons, willing to engage in such activity, etc. The approved people are from Vidin and the villages: Pokrayna, Antimovo, Kutovo, Vladichentsi, Drazhintsi, Peshakovo, Rakitnitsa, Bojnitsa.
The idea of the Project, in addition to acquiring crafts and working for people, is for them to be taught to charity and to donate part of their production to Homes for Children and the Elderly over time.
Similar beekeeping development projects are being implemented, except in Bulgaria, Northern Macedonia and six African countries.
