Bregovo welcomed the Bishop of the feet

The packed City Hall in the small border town got to its feet at the entrance of the Vidin Metropolitan Daniil and guests from St. John the Baptist Monastery in Warwick, MA. , USA – hieromonks Nathanael and Joseph. With visible interest and attention, the locals watched the movie about the foundation of the Orthodox monastery. Fathers told how parishioners there helped with money, volunteer work and construction materials to repair the 200-year-old building in Warwick-purchased parish and donated property. The guests shared how they “got there” and how they devoted themselves to the Orthodox faith, though they grew up in Protestant families. For the people present at the meeting, people from Bregovo performed several church chants.

Before the meeting, Metropolitan Daniil and guests from America visited the local school. “St. Cyril and Methodius”, led by director Iliana Krasteva. Uniquely written and painted school with the most important moments in the history of Bulgaria. A 150 year old school founded by Ion Cholaka.

In front of the Municipality building, guests were greeted by the Mayor of the Municipality Ilian Bersanov under the sounds of a march in the performance of the City Brass Band.
