Balkan Fest in Minnesota

The first Spring Festival for 2020 was held in St. Paul, the capital of the US state of Minnesota. The event is organized by Ethnic Dance Theater and Landmark Center. Dance teams with representatives from Albania, Bosnia, Bulgaria, Croatia, Northern Macedonia, Romania and Serbia participated. Balkans living and working in the USA.
The festival is dedicated to the rich and dynamic cultures found on the Balkan Peninsula, the transition from darkness to light, from winter to summer. In addition to songs and dances. During the Festival could tasted food and drink from across the region of Southeast Europe! Special arts and crafts from the region’s ethnic heritage were displayed in special corners.
Bulgaria was represented by the Nomadi Bulgarian Folklore Group and by the group “Shevitsa” at the Bulgarian School “St. St. Cyril and Methodius” in St. Paul, headed by Elena Momcheva.
