Black Friday, thirteenth …

Bad day. The other – on Good Friday. Then you can. What about Black? … If you have anger at someone, pour it. Go to the field, dig a hole in your hands, put flowers and curse the one who did you harm. Then he dug a hole, put a cross on some sticks, and poured water. And wait to see what happens! …

This is how old grandmothers have done for centuries. And still remember the times when all this happened – sooner or later. But, as 82-year-old Maria Arlova from the village of Gradets in Vidin says, “don’t think that no one sees you what you do! … There is one power that holds this earth and sees everything! …” it’s coming back to you. And Black Friday is the best helper. This is what old people tell us about it.

It happened when our troops invaded Serbia.

Floro Pasarelu from the village of Negovanovtsi, Vidin, became famous as the rapist of girls who then cut their breasts. The mothers cursed him. One of them said on Black Friday the oaths, tied with a red thread of basil and buried it in a grave. And Pasarelu lived long. To watch his son crash and die. How his grandson, already fidgety, suddenly gets a sore leg, which doctors do not shortly amputate, but soon dies. Pasarelou himself gets hit and dies after severe torment. His family is lost.

Two brothers

lived in Novo selo. They were married, but one woman died after birth, and a few years later he died. The uncle took to watching his brother’s girlfriend, along with his two children. The years were tough, hungry, and one day he buried the girl alive in a feed pit … It’s been a while. Who exactly cursed him did not understand, but on Black Friday saw several grandmothers perform mysterious rituals on the field. To this day, uncle’s – when one of his descendants reaches the age of the buried girl, he dies. Several generations have already settled down – they get married, have one or two children, and when they reach the age of 17-18, they die. One boy – from cancer, another – from some kind of infection, a third hanged himself, etc. Some survive to be punished as if…

“It is not a good person to interfere with God’s work,”

says grandmother Slavka of the village of Derzhanitsa. “For them – whip! …” And tells how soldiers came to their village, trenches to dig. Her neighbor, who worked near the village, took two of them home. They gave him a blast, and in return he “delivered” the girls. A girl from the village got pregnant by a soldier, but he didn’t take it. So they hid, they left the child in Mother’s house … The mother of the “kidnapped” girl on Black Friday dug a hole, put flowers and cursed her pimp – one day she wouldn’t see … The pregnant girl did the same. And after many years the curse overtook the children of the pimp neighbor – the daughter crashed and died. The son is still alive today, but he is terribly fat and no woman wants him.

Bury your children and grandchildren! …” – most often they curse on the 13th, Friday. And it usually comes true. The bad thing is that many curse unjustifiably simply because they failed to accomplish something they very much wanted without the other side also wanting it.
